 The population of Chihuahua is around 800,000, which more than one million in its metro area.
Chihuahua divided into Colonias (neighborhoods) that are generally residential, commercial, industrial or educational. New residential zones called "fraccionamientos" have sprung up in recent years some of which are Los Huertos, Campobello, Puerta de Hierro and Las Fuentes. Some of these fraccionamientos are gated, with controlled access to private clubs such as Club Campestre de Chihuahua, San Francisco Country Club, Rincon de las Lomas, Arcadas and Haciendas de Santa Fe. The growing construction industry is creating many new settlements of this description in response to an overwhelming demand for new homes in the city, extending them at an ever-increasing rate every year. |
