 There are no hospitals or clinics in Ixtapa and medical services are limited to hospital doctors with varying level of background and training.
The sister city of Zihuatanejo has the immediate region's only private medical facilities, but even these clinics have only basic care facilities. The Hospital de Especialidades in Zihuatanejo can treat mild to moderate illnesses.
For treatment of anything of the most basic conditions, we recommend a trip to either Acapulco or Mexico City.
