Schooling in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo

Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo both have lots of markets, outdoor pursuits and nightlife to keep visitors engaged.

Zihuatanejo was a small fishing village before Fonatur; the Mexican tourism board, decided to develop Ixtapa into an international resort.

There are no hospitals or clinics in Ixtapa and medical services are limited to hospital doctors with varying level of background and training. For treatment of anything of the most basic conditions, we recommend a trip to either Acapulco or Mexico City.

Ixtapa has several colonial and modern style malls interconnected by plazas and gardens, as well as many high-rise hotels of four and five stars; most hotels are of well known international and national chains.

Ixtapa is a modern, Government-planned luxury world-class resort that was formerly a coconut plantation. Neighbouring Zihuatanejo is also quite touristy but a little more laid back, with an easy-going coastal ambience.
