 León is an industrial city located in Central Mexico, 56km west of Guanajuato.
Due to its location, it forms a logistical axis for bus routes and other transport in the country.
The city is well known for its leatherwork, saddle, and shoe production. The Guanajuato State Fair is held in León, featuring agricultural displays, local culinary delicacies, music, folkloric dancing, fairground attractions, and the indispensable bullfights and cockfights. Combined with the multitude of shoemakers in the Centro de Exposiciones, the fair brings in over 5 million visitors. |
