SayulitaThe ecologically conscious and talented architectural designer Richard Brasard started coming here to surf in the late '60s. Born in Quebec and having lived most of his life in California, he moved here 7 years ago and now dedicates himself to the appropriate development of his adopted town.
His extraordinarily innovative designs integrating natural materials into functional and flowing one-of-a-kind dwellings have been featured in Architectural Digest. Richard helped noted local ecological expert and retired University of Arizona Professor of Plant Sciences, Charlie Sacamano design a spectacular sculpted residence in the rainforest about the Pacific's hum, it's soft-hued fairy-tale shapes evoking images of a Tolkein hobbit house. Now the botanist and his wife, Shirley, live amidst the rich flora he spent years teaching about.
BuceriasTown architecture in Bucerias is distinguished by numerous towering cupolas (domes) and comfy beachfront places that can be rented by the month or season at moderate prices. Several small hotels and a well run trailer park with 48 hook-ups and boat ramp nearby offer options for briefer stays.
