San Jose del Cabo Real Estate

Most of the expats in San José del Cabo are Californians and have second homes here. Some have decided to stay long-term, taking advantage of the lower cost of an ocean-view home or condominium vis-à-vis San Diego.

Some decided that a slower pace in a friendly foreign country that’s close to home is what they want. Others love the eclectic nightlife and/or outdoor water sports activities. People who have bought second homes in the area tend to have fewer complaints than those who have purchased property in beach communities nearer the border.

San José del Cabo is a natural focus of attention for real estate and is being recognized as an ideal spot for vacation home owners from all walks of life. There is a new Marina in the city to reckon with and the supply of local population provides workers and services for all who are interested in the town. Also, being the municipal capital, paperwork and other administrative/governmental issues can be dealt with relatively easily.

Investors should look at least at a 5-10 year time horizon, although the consensus is that the area will still see rising prices for the near future. Perhaps the only “watch out” is falling real estate prices in Southern California. Nevertheless, there are still opportunities to be found, especially given the fact that Mexico’s financial stability is now enabling Americans to get US dollar financing for properties in Mexico based on their US credit score and with competitive rates.
