San Miguel is considered to be a veritable haven for retirees, an extended American retirement community lives here, but also offers famous art school programs that tend to drawn in a younger crowd to San Miguel de Allende. This town tends to balance the young, old, retired and world traveler all in one, making it a very flavorful city.

Perfect for a romantic get-away, and probably the nicest (and also the most expensive) hotel in San Miguel, is the Casa de Sierra Nevada, situated just near the town center above the local park, shaded amid lush verdant trees.
