Doing Business in Sonora

As the second largest state of Mexico, Sonora makes an important contribution to the share of the nations' total exports thanks to its large number of maquiladora plants. Sonora has a modern irrigation system and produces large quantities of wheat, grapes and cotton and is a top producer of beef. Hermosillo, the capital of this bustling industrial state, is located in the vast “Desierto Sonorense” and sees temperatures reaching around 45 degrees Celsius in the summer.
