Health Tips for Foreigners Visiting Mexico

It is important to know that visiting Mexico can pose various risks to health, depending on the characteristics of both the traveler and the travel. Travelers may encounter sudden and significant changes in altitude, humidity, microbes and temperature, which can result in ill-health. In addition, serious health risks may arise in areas where accommodation is of poor quality, hygiene and sanitation area inadequate, medical services are not well developed and clean water is unavailable.

They are particularly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation and become dehydrated more easily than adults in this season, in cabin air pressure is contraindicated for infants less than 48 hours old, it is important to mention that infants and young children are more sensitive to sudden changes in altitude and also susceptible to infectious deseases.


Elderly people - Should seek medical advice before planning


Pregnancy - Generally is not contraindicated until close to the expected date of delivery, provided that the pregnancy is uncomplicated and the woman´s health is good.


Pre-existing illness - Is important those people who are suffering from chronic illnesses should seek medical advice before planning a journey cause some of them can increase health risks during travel, so it is really important to carry prescription written by your doctor such as your medication.
