Baja California Meeting Point 2008

 The Baja California peninsula represents an eco-jewel in Mexico's treasure chest of lush vegetation, breath-taking coastal lines and mountainous landscapes. Whether its gray whale watching in the lagoons off Los Cabos or traversing through the Sierra de la Laguna dry forests, this land mass, which extends 1250 km (775 miles) from top to bottom, has been developing it's eco-touristic infrastructure for the past decade with glowing results.
A culmination of this endeavour is best represented at the Baja California Meeting Point (BCMP) forum which has been described by the Mexican Tourism Secretariat as "the most important business encounter in the Sea of Cortes region and the Baja California peninsula." In it's fourth consecutive year, the BCMP's goal is to formalize business ventures and investments into the millions by exploiting the region's potential for touristic and real estate growth on the Mexican North Pacific strip. This year's event will also include the "assisted living" industry, medical tourism, complimentary and recreational services, as well as the renovation of border crossing infrastructures. Participating investors will come from the states of California, Arizona, Sonora, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Distrito Federal and by its host, the State of Baja California, reflect how important this event is for the region. The BCMP also provides a platform for experts from both the public and private sector (American and Mexican) to voice their opinions regarding what direction development should take in the region (and language is not a barrier as the BCMP offers simultaneous translation services as well as a bilingual staff available at all times). Known as "the most profitable Investment Summit in the Sea of Cortez and Baja California," the BCMP will include hundreds of pre-arranged meetings, one-on-one consultations and a full two-day program of conferences and discussion panels. Discussion topics include: financing, real state appraisals and valuation systems, tax and legal framework, sustainable development. Vacational real estate in Mexico registered a massive spike in 2007 by growing 46.6 percent and all indicators point to 2008 being an even better year for the sector. According to an industry report commissioned by the vacational rental giant RCI, last year Mexico made up 69 percent of holiday homes that were built in the region which comprises of Mexico, Central America and the Carribean. That figure included 44 master plan developments in diverse destinations all across the nation. Cancun and Los Cabos were the top two cities with the biggest tally of new vacational real estate registering 200 and 80 percent growth respectively, the report stated.
