León city center: The historic heart of the city, Plaza de la Constitución or Plaza Principal, is a pleasant pedestrian zone that is pleasant to stroll around, looking at the medieval buildings.
In the area around the plaza, you can find the Casa de Cultura on the northern plaza, and the Teatro Doblado, a neoclassical 1869 building that still stages concerts, dance, and drama.
Guanajuato: The medieval town of Guanajuato a 56km drive away lures visitors with its twisting cobbled streets and fine architecture.

As already mentioned, León is a great place to buy leather-goods. If that's what you're looking for then it is best to head out to Hilario Medina, towards the bus station. There you can find Plaza del Zapato (shoes) and Plaza Piel (other leathergoods).
